WAYLAND - The WACO volleyball team picked up an ultra-important win on Tuesday night against West Burlington. The Warriors stormed back after losing the first set to beat the Falcons in four, picking up a Southeast Iowa Super Conference South Division victory and getting vengeance from their only loss so far this season, a defeat at the hands of the Falcons in their season opening tournament.
After sweeping WACO in their first meeting this season, the Falcons took the first set on Tuesday, grinding out a 26-24 win. WACO bounced right back, however, and swept the next three, beating West Burlington 25-18, 25-19 and 25-20.
Morgan Graber went off for 18 kills in the win. Molly McLaughlin had nine. Lona Farrier added seven. Ellie Miles had five. Grace Coble finished with four. Taylor Sammons and Aubri Gasrnsey netted two apiece and Ellah Kissell finished the season with one.
Coble finished the night with 37 assists and 18 digs. Garnsey paced the defense with 23 digs.
The Warriors are now 9-1, having won their last seven games. WACO will host Cardinal in another South Division match on Thursday night.
