WACO picks up out-of-state victory

NORTH SHELBY, Mo. - The WACO football team went into Missouri on Friday night and came back to Iowa with a big win. The Warriors used a four-score third quarter to run away from North Shelby, Missouri in the second half.
The Warriors led 18-12 at halftime but really opened it up in the third quarter. After three, WACO held a 48-18 advantage.
North Shelby scored three times in the fourth quarter but the damage had aleady been done.
'I thought we did a good job of starting both halves,” said WACO head coach Chad Edeker. 'Our defense did a good job of staying with their assignments vs. the veer (offense). We gave up a few big plays, but for the most part we were very solid.”
Nik Coble had a huge day behind center. He ended the day 7-15 with 121 and two touchdowns passing. He ran for 151 yards and three scores, and caught a 23-yard touchdown pass from backup QB Will Edeker.
Jalen Collins scored two touchdowns, one in the air and one on the ground. Jaden Williams had a touchdown on the ground, and Rober Frazer was second in rushing yards, with 65.
Williams led the Warriors on defense with 11.5 tackles. Braden Hammond finished with 8.5 tackles.
The Warriors moved to 1-0 on the year. They'll host Janesville in Week 2.
