WACO shows strength at English Valleys tournament
Warriors go 3-1 in Saturday’s action; Cardinal edges Columbus

NORTH ENGLISH — The WACO volleyball team had a nice day at the English Valleys tournament on Saturday, going 3-1 with three sweeps.
The Warriors had the best day of three Union area squads in attendance. Columbus went 1-3, and Cardinal was 0-4.
WACO defeated hosting English Valleys 21-19, 21-17. The Warriors sank Sigourney 22-20 and 21-9 and took down Tri-County 21-12, 21-11.
WACO’s only loss of the day was a 21-19, 21-11 defeat at the hands of Davis County.
Ellah Kissell had 29 kills on the day to lead WACO. Grace Coble finished with 53 assists, and Jocelyn Fulton had 36 digs.
Columbus’ lone win came against Cardinal. The Wildcats defeated the Comets 21-15, 13-21, 15-11.
Cardinal went three sets in each of their losses.
Davis County went 4-0 on the day to win the tournament.
