WACO splits with visitors

WAYLAND - WACO High School's basketball team saw Nik Coble nearly match Sigourney's output Monday.
WACO 67, Sigourney 27
In the boys nonconference game, WACO led 19-7 after one quarter and 34-12 at halftime.
Coble finished with 23 points and outscored the visitors in the first half all by himself. He made four 2-pointers, was 2 of 2 on free throws and buried a 3-pointer to total 13 first-half points.
Drew Kissell added 13 points for the Warriors.
WACO is 9-3 and plays at West Burlington Friday.
Dustin Haines scored 12 points for the visitors. Sigourney is 5-5.
Sigourney 57, WACO 25
In a girls nonconference game at Wayland, the visitors jumped on top with a 23-8 first quarter and it was 35-14 by halftime.
Clara Schmitz had six points for WACO and Laney Graber five.
Megan Stuhr and Kaylee Weber each put in 20 points for Sigourney, which is 9-2.
WACO is 4-9 and plays at West Burlington Friday.

This girls nonconference game was dominated by the home team.
The Demons are 5-6 and play at Burlington Notre Dame Thursday.
