WACO takes third in home tournament
WACO opened their season with their annual home volleyball tournament and it came away with a strong finish.
The Warriors only suffered one loss on the day, coming in a pool-play game, sending them to the third-place match, where they met Pekin.
The Warriors claimed a first-set victory over the Panthers 21-15, but Pekin rallied to claim a set two win, 21-19, to force a decisive third set.

WACO opened their season with their annual home volleyball tournament and it came away with a strong finish.
The Warriors only suffered one loss on the day, coming in a pool-play game, sending them to the third-place match, where they met Pekin.
The Warriors claimed a first-set victory over the Panthers 21-15, but Pekin rallied to claim a set two win, 21-19, to force a decisive third set.
WACO looked strong in the set, claiming a 15-11 victory and third place in their home tournament.
The Warriors finished the day 3-1, with victories over Columbus (22-20, 21-13) and Van Buren (22-20, 26-24), and falling to Centerville (21-16, 21-12) before the third-place match with Pekin.
Columbus was also in attendance, as they claimed a win to go 1-2 on the day, failing to make the championship rounds.
Aside from WACO, the Wildcats also fell to Centerville (21-12, 21-14) but picked up their win decisively against Van Buren, 21-1, 21-16.
WACO will be at Danville next Thursday, Sept. 1, while Columbus hosts a triangular with Louisa-Muscatine and Mediapolis this Thursday, Aug. 25.
