WACO takes thriller in double overtime

The Warriors went two extra periods Thursday before they won the Southeast Iowa Super Conference South Division boys game over the visitors from Notre Dame High School, which was ranked 10th in Class 1A last week.
WACO 68, Notre Dame 66 2OT
This game was tied at 51 at the end of regulation. Gabe Reichenbach hit a game-tying 3-pointer at the end of the first overtime to tie it at 57 and Nik Coble sank the winning basket with 3 seconds left.
Coble finished with 28 points while Drew Kissell had 15 and eight rebounds. Reichenbach added 14 points. Coble corralled 21 rebounds.
Gavin Kies had 26 for ND (6-2, 4-2).
WACO improved to 7-3 and 4-3 in the South.
Wilton 66, Columbus 44
The Wildcats lost the nonconference home game, but played the visitors even in the second half as each team scored eight in the third quarter and 17 in the fourth. Wilton led 19-7 after the first quarter and 41-19 at the half.
Columbus' Eric Valdez hit for 18 points.
The Wildcats (1-7) host Lone Tree (2-5) tonight.
North Linn 34, Mid-Prairie 28
Cael Garvey and Cory Allen were the only winners of wrestled matches for Mid-Prairie. There were three weights with double forfeits.
Garvey wasted no time in his match at 160 pounds, winning by fall in just 11 seconds. Allen registered a major decision at 170, winning 8-0.
The Golden Hawks next wrestle Jan. 3 at Ft. Madison.
