WACO volleyball runs past Keota
Warriors beat Eagles in 4 sets, move on to play New London

WAYLAND — Keota forced WACO to sweat a little in the Class 1A Region 8 volleyball opener on Monday night, but in the end, the Warriors had enough to skate on to the second round.
WACO beat Keota in four sets to move on in the postseason tournament, beating the Eagles on the Warriors’ home floor, 25-9, 25-15, 23-25, 25-11.
WACO’s Ellah Kissell absolutely dominated, tallying 23 kills to lead the Warriors. Emma Wagler had eight kills, and both Grace Coble and Marie Farmer ended with seven.
Jocelyn Fulton had 23 digs on the day to lead the WACO back row. Grace Coble finished the night with 20 digs, and also led the Warriors with 33 assists and six service aces.
Keota senior Taylor Kindred led the Eagles with eight kills in her final high school game. Macie McDonald dished out 11 assists.
Nicole Clarahan had 14 digs for the Eagles in the loss. Madison Scott and Kimberly Clarahan finished with 12 each, and Scott also led the team in aces, with three.
Keota ended its season 9-16. WACO (21-12) will play at No. 13 New London (25-13) on Wednesday night.
