WACO, Washington compete at Panther Relays

MT. PLEASANT - Washington and WACO competed in the 22-team Panther Relays high school girls track meet Tuesday.
The Demons were ninth in the large class team race while WACO was seventh with 40.5 among smaller schools. The Demons scored 16 points.
Pekin won Class B with 133.5 points and Cedar Rapids Prairie won Class A with 132. The hosts were second with 107.
Isabel Bailey placed third in the long jump with a distance of 16 feet, 2.25 inches and Kelsey Pacha was fifth at 15-10. Ashley Telleen was fourth in the 400 hurdles in 1:12.55. Elyse Hunt was sixth in the 400 in 1:12.49.
Leah Marek, Pacha, Bailey and Telleen were fifth in the 4x4 in 4:25.07. The distance medley was sixth in 4:56.3 with Bailey, Olivia Marek, Leah Marek and Victoria Hinson.
WACO got an individual event victor in Molly McLaughlin, who won the 100 hurdles with a time of 18.14. the Warriors got a relay win when McLaughlin anchored the shuttle to a time of 1:15.15 with Laney Graber, Taylor Sammons and Grace Conwell. Conwell took second in the 400 hurdles in 1:14.65. In the 4x2, Olivia Leichty, Kaylee Shelman, Graber and Ashleigh Hallett were third in 2:00.55. Leichty, Shelman, Graber and Conwell were fourth in the in 4x1 in 55.09. The sprint medley was fifth in 2:05.74 with Leichty, Shelman, Graber and Hallett.
