WEST BURLINGTON ? The result was never in doubt Friday as the Van Buren girls? basketball team rolled to a 62-33 victory over West Burlington in Southeast Iowa Super Conference action.
Van Buren senior Hanna Haynes scored 21 points on 8 of 11 field goal shooting, and she also tallied five assists and five blocks. Kaitlyn Johnson added 13 points and seven assists for the Warriors, who held a 30-11 advantage at halftime.
Also for the Warriors, Payten Hughes scored eight points with six rebounds, Jordan Billups scored six to go with four assists and Abbey Rider scored five points. Tayt Wiebel had a pair of blocks.
Van Buren (12-4), which later fell to Burlington Notre Dame 62-40 Saturday, is back in action Tuesday vs. Cardinal.
