Warriors clip Tigers on the course
Van Buren County’s depth lifts team past New London in boys golf

KEOSAUQUA — It was a battle till the end at Riverview Club on Monday as Van Buren County hosted New London in a boys golf dual in Keosauqua.
In the end, it was the hometown Warriors who prevailed by just seven strokes. Van Buren County vanquished Southeast Iowa Super Conference rival New London 183-190.
Van Buren County had four of the Top-5 scores on the day, including T.J. Jirak, who led the way with a 43. Riley Bruckman shot 46. Anthony Duncan and Aidan McEntee each finished at 47.
Dylan Richards on was just off of Van Buren County’s scoring four, shooting 57 on the day. Ethan Pforts shot a 68 to round out the Warriors.
New London’s Mason Shelledy was the top golfer in the entire field, scoring 41 on the day. The next-best Tiger was Wyatt Miller, who finished at 48.
Weston Miller finished right behind Wyatt, shooting 50 on the day. Coen Fitzpatrick finished at 51, and Sullivan Barron shot 59.
