WAYLAND ? The WACO boys? basketball team fell in a 10-point game against Mediapolis, and the Warrior girls were crushed by the Class 3A No. 5 Bullettes on Tuesday night.
Aaliyah Brown scored a team-high eight points in the WACO girls? 67-28 loss to Mediapolis. Erika Leichty and Hannah Black chipped in four points each.
In the boys? game, WACO stayed with the Bulldogs through the first two quarters, down only four points, 22-18, at the break. Mediapolis distanced itself in the second half to claim a 52-42 win.
Tyler Ayers led WACO with 11 points; Dylan Carlson and Ben Fear had eight points each, while Aaron Barnhart tallied seven in the loss.
The WACO boys are now 2-3 on the season and in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division. The girls are 3-4 overall and in the conference.
The Warriors will host Columbus on Friday, starting with the girls? game at 6 p.m.
