Warriors run at English Valleys

NORTH ENGLISH ? The WACO High School girls ? and now, one boy ? competed in the English Valleys meet on Tuesday, Sept. 13.

Madison Roth was the team?s top finisher, coming in fourth place with a 17:14 time overall.

Sara Conwell was No. 2 for the team, taking 32nd overall with a 20:21, followed by Jennie Greene with a 21:30, 41st place; Kayla Conwell, 24:26, 49th place; Aaliyah Brown, 24:37, 51st place; and Alex Morozov, 25:21, 54th place.

Team scores for the meet are not yet available.

?Our times are still dropping,? Coach Cinda Blake said. ?It was a really hilly course, but I think we were prepared.?

WACO also entered a runner in the varsity boys? race: Mitchell Shaffer. An injured football player, Shaffer joined the cross-country team temporarily to stay in shape.

He took 50th place with a time of 23:19 in the boys? race.

?He ran a really good time, considering it was his first race,? Blake said.
