LONE TREE ? Lone Tree used a big first quarter to get an early jump on the Warriors, and WACO never recovered as it dropped its Friday night game, 63-48.
Lone Tree put up 23 points in the first eight minutes of the contest, allowing WACO only eight. Each team added 10 in the second quarter, but WACO went into the half down 33-18.
It was WACO?s turn for a big quarter in the third, as the Warriors scored 20 points and allowed only 14 to make a dent in the Lions? lead.
But WACO?s efforts toward a comeback fell short, and the team was outscored in the final quarter, 16-10, to cement the loss.
Tyler Ayers came up with 17 points to lead the Warriors in scoring. Kendall Leichty added 14 points.
Christan Roth broke into double figures with 10 rebounds on the night, and Leichty grabbed seven boards.
Roth also dished four assists in the contest, while Ayers had four steals.
The Warriors play again tonight when they host Columbus. The girls? game starts at 6 p.m., followed by the boys.
