VBC girls, Columbus boys take team titles at Timm Lamb Invite

FORT MADISON — A crowded group of area teams competed in the 2025 Timm Lamb Invitational cross-country races in Fort Madison on Thursday evening, with two Union area teams taking home team titles.
The Van Buren County girls and the Columbus boys were both victorious in the Class B team races, scoring 20 and 67 points respectively.
The Warrior girls won the night by 45 points over second-place Louisa-Muscatine, placing five runners in the Top-10 to get it done.
Kayley and Adalyn Snowgren finished 5th and 6th respectively for the Warriors. Rylee Phillips was seventh. Rory Phillips finished ninth, and Gabby Titus took 10th.
The only other two runners from the Union coverage area to make the Top-10 in the Class B girls race were two WACO runners. Josie Dykstra finished third, and Macie Carter took fourth.
Columbus didn’t have any runners in the Top-9 of the Class B boys race, but still won the team race by 20 points over second-place Mediapolis.
The top Columbus runner was Ryan Villa, who took 10th. Drake Marin was 12th. Victor Tovar took 13th, and Kevin Villa finished 15th to giv ethe Wildcats four inside the Top-15.
The top area runner in the Class B race was Jude Dykstra of WACO, who finished third. Van Buren County’s Lincoln Bainbridge landed one spot behind him, in fourth, and WACO’s Garrett Landau took ninth.
Washington’s Iris Dahl finished second in the Class A girls’ race. She finished just over 30 seconds behind race winner Avery Rump of the hosting Bloodhounds.
The Demons had three more runners in the Top-13, as Emma Horak finished 10th, Kora Miller took 12th and Angeline Anderson finished 13th. As a team, Washington took second place.
Mt. Pleasant’ Quintrie Lee had a nice race, finishing fourth. The top Fairfield runner was Naomi Stiemsma, who crossed in 17th.
On the boys’ side, Washington’s Andrew Rees took second place, finishing just four seconds behind race winner Riley Tripp of Fort Madison.
The Demons would tie for second as a team, putting three total runners in the Top-15. Ethan Hotchkiss finished the race in 11th, and Jack Shepherd took 13th.
Mt. Pleasant’s Silas Hulett finished in fifth place. The top Trojan in the race was John Miller, who finished 23rd.
