Warriors wrangle Wolves in final game

WINFIELD - WACO and Winfield-Mt. Union renewed their rivalry on Friday night and for the second year in a row, WACO walked away with a district win.
The Warriors were red hot on offense all night, scoring a season high point total in a 64-36 victory.
WACO led 29-16 after the first quarter and 43-28 at halftime.
WACO blew the game open in the third quarter. Nik Coble threw two touchdown passes and Will Edeker threw one to help WACO run the score to 64-28 after three periods.
Coble went 19-27 for 331 yards, five touchdowns and one interception in the win. He also led the team in rushing with 66 rushing yards and a score.
Drew Kissell had three catches fro 116 yards and two touchdowns. Elijah McGohan had 68 yards receiving and a score. Robert Frazer had 62 yards receiving and a touchdown. Braden Hammond, Gabe Reichenbach and Pietro Vannini each had one touchdown catch.
The Wolves were led by the rushing attack of quarterback Christian Gerot and running back Andrew Brady. Gerot ran for 110 yards on the day, and Brady went for 69 yards and three touchdowns.
Oepping was 3-5 throwing the ball for 51 yards. Jacob Ford had one catch for 26 yards to lead the Wolves. Brady and Chance Malone each caught one pass.
WACO went 4-5 overall this season and 3-4 in district play. W-MU finished 1-8 overall and 0-7 in the district.
