Washington 8th grade basketball teams play against Fairfield

The Washington 8th grade basketball teams took to the court against Fairfield Tuesday, Jan. 17, with the A team winning 45-40.The B team were victorious 20-4 while the C team lost 7-9.

Thomas Bias led the A team in scoring with 10 points followed by Wilx Witthoft and Kael Adam both scoring nine, Trashaun Willis scored seven, Zac Stout scored six and both Wyatt Stout and Spencer Sotello scored two.

Wyatt Stout had a total of five rebounds and two steals. Zac Stout had two rebounds and four steals. Witthoft had one rebound and three steals and having two steals was Noah Suchan.

Reece Mayer led the B team with eight points and had three rebounds and five steals as well. Jack Strabala had six points, two rebounds and two steals.

Quinn Alexander scored two points, had four rebounds and two steals. Roy Carter scored two points and had one rebound and one steal. Luciano Marcelino scored two points and had one steals. Zayne Laws had four rebounds and one steal.

Daniel Marcelino led the C team with five points while having two steals. Luciano Marcelino scored two points and had two steals.

Chase Messamaker and Loren Rice both had one steal. Brayton Warren and Bryan Martin both had two rebounds and Jimmy Cardosa had one rebound and one steal.

The A and B team have a 1-0 record and the C team is 0-1.

The boys travel to Keokuk Thursday, Jan. 26, for their next game.
