Washington 8th-grade boys track team takes second place at Ottumwa Invitational meet
The Washington eighth-grade boys track team traveled to Ottumwa Thursday, April 13, to participate in an invitational meet.
The Demons ended in second place, behind host team Ottumwa.
There were many first place finishes at the event where Wilx Witthoft came in first in discus, throwing 119 feet 2 inches.
Spencer Sotelo took first in the long jump going 17 feet 5 3/4 inches.

The Washington eighth-grade boys track team traveled to Ottumwa Thursday, April 13, to participate in an invitational meet.
The Demons ended in second place, behind host team Ottumwa.
There were many first place finishes at the event where Wilx Witthoft came in first in discus, throwing 119 feet 2 inches.
Spencer Sotelo took first in the long jump going 17 feet 5 3/4 inches.
The team of Thomas Bias, Witthoft, Zach Stout and Luciano Marcelino took first in the 1600-meter medley relay with a time of 4:37.20.
Sotelo also took first in the 200-meter hurdles. His time of 26.94 set a new school record, breaking the old record set by Alex Coker of 26.98 seconds.
The team next competes Monday, April 24, at Fort Madison.
