Washington archers do well in home tournament
The Washington archery teams held a Fun Shoot Saturday, Feb. 25, with the high school team coming in first place, with both the middle school and Lincoln Elementary teams taking second.
The top finisher for the high school girls was Samantha Mellinger, who came in third out of 30 participants, with a score of 289, including 20 tens. Grace Shafer-Smith came in sixth place with a 283.

The Washington archery teams held a Fun Shoot Saturday, Feb. 25, with the high school team coming in first place, with both the middle school and Lincoln Elementary teams taking second.
The top finisher for the high school girls was Samantha Mellinger, who came in third out of 30 participants, with a score of 289, including 20 tens. Grace Shafer-Smith came in sixth place with a 283.
Mitchell Driscoll was the top finisher for the boys coming in sixth place out of 40 archers, with final score of 285 which included 15 tens. Griffin Wood followed in seventh place with a 282.
For the middle school, Alexis Ide came in first place out of 34 girl archers, scoring a 284 while having 17 tens.
Samantha Frana followed with a 281 taking second place.
Kenna Rathmell came in seventh place scoring 272.
Curtis Stender was the top team scorer for the boys with a 279, including 17 tens, taking fourth place. and Cooper Reed came in fifth place with a 279.
Makynna Morgan was the top finisher on the Lincoln Elementary girls team. She finished in third place with a 257.
Emmersyn Wenger had a fifth place finish after scoring a 243.
Landon Messer led the boys team from Lincoln finishing in seventh place after scoring a 246.
Miguel Torres Jr. came in eighth place with a 245 score.
