Washington archers take 74th in the nation
The Washington Archers saw where they sat with the best across the country over the weekend, and came away with strong results.
The Demon archery team went to Louisville, Kentucky, for the national competition, and came away as the 74th best team in the country that weekend, taking home a team score of 3,299.

The Washington Archers saw where they sat with the best across the country over the weekend, and came away with strong results.
The Demon archery team went to Louisville, Kentucky, for the national competition, and came away as the 74th best team in the country that weekend, taking home a team score of 3,299.
On Saturday, Washington split into two teams and competed in the 3D shoot, finishing in 63rd and 67th.
Highlighting the weekend was Samantha Mellinger?s performance in the 3D shoot, as she notched a 280, which put her in 25th place in the middle school girls? competition and also qualified her for the World Tournament, which is held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, in June.
John Sands shot a 273 in the 3D shoot competition, taking 46th out of all the junior boys? competitors, while Grace Shafer (33rd for junior girls), Jade Wells (29th for senior girls), Griffin Wood (62nd for freshman boys) and Cody Mellinger (64th for sophomore boys) each shot a 266.
The other scores for the Demons in the 3D shoot came from Mitch Driscoll (265), Joseph Dalziel (264), Andrew Venenga (259), Curtis Stender (255), Lane Frana (247), Kylee Porter (243), Hannah Frame (229), Bryan Martin (218), Meredith Raber (207) and Kenna Rathmell (130).
In the target shoot, Wells led the team with a score of 284, taking 135th out of the 2,004 high school girls in the competition and 37th among senior girls.
Wood (81st for freshman boys) and Mellinger (128th for middle school girls) each shot a 281 on the day, while Curtis Stender carded a 273 to take 87th among elementary boys (70th for fifth-grade boys).
Ally Rees notched a 267 on the day to take 87th among elementary girls and 70th among fifth-grade girls.
The other Demon scores for the target shooting competition came from John Sands (279), Cody Mellinger (277), Grace Shafer (274), Kylee Porter (273), Joseph Dalziel (271), Mitch Driscoll (270), Bryan Martin (269), Lane Frana (266), Andrew Venenga (266), Hannah Frame (256), Emily Waite (246), Meredith Raber (244) and Kenna Rathmell (187).
