Washington archery team competes at Ottumwa
The Washington Archery Program participated in their first tournament of the year Saturday, Dec. 10. They traveled to Ottumwa to compete against six other teams.
The Lincoln elementary team finished third with a score of 2,007.
Leading the team with a score of 232 was Emmersyn Wenger. She finished seventh out of 55 elementary girls.

The Washington Archery Program participated in their first tournament of the year Saturday, Dec. 10. They traveled to Ottumwa to compete against six other teams.
The Lincoln elementary team finished third with a score of 2,007.
Leading the team with a score of 232 was Emmersyn Wenger. She finished seventh out of 55 elementary girls.
Next in scoring was Makynna Morgan with a score of 224. On the boys? side Ethen Mesch scored a 215 and finished 18th out of 69 elementary boys.
The Washington Middle School came away with first place honors scoring 3,201 points.
Outstanding shooter for the middle school team was Anna Miller with a 282. She finished in second place out of 69 middle school girls. Overall she finished in eighth out of 189 girls who participated from elementary to high school age.
Close behind was Allison Rees with a 278. She finished third in the middle school girls' division. On the boys? side Hunter Shultz was top scorer for Washington with a 272, finishing fifth out of 110 middle school boys.
Next for the boys was Lane Frana with a 268, finishing in eighth and then Kaden Bex with a 268 good for ninth place in middle school boys' division.
The Washington High School team finished in third place with a team total of 3,240.
Samantha Mellinger picked up from where she left off last season with a 281, placing seventh for high school girls.
Top boy shooter for the team was John Sands who shot a 278 and finished fifth on the high school boys' side.
After John, with her best PR, was Paige Hyde; she shot a 278 and finished in 10th place.
Newcomer to the sport, Braeden Duwa was next with a score of 273 and finished in 12th place.
The next tournament for the Washington Archery Team will be Saturday, Dec. 17, at the high school.
