Washington archery teams do well at Cardinal meet
The Washington Archery teams were part of a meet at Cardinal of Eldon, Saturday, Jan.7.
The Lincoln Elementary team continues to improve, having a score of 2,504. The top scorer for the team was Makynna Morgan, who shot a 259, placing third out of 60 elementary girls.

The Washington Archery teams were part of a meet at Cardinal of Eldon, Saturday, Jan.7.
The Lincoln Elementary team continues to improve, having a score of 2,504. The top scorer for the team was Makynna Morgan, who shot a 259, placing third out of 60 elementary girls.
Next was Emmersyn Wenger, who finished with a 236, good enough for 10th place. Landon Messer scored a 232, finishing in ninth place for elementary boys out of 66.
The middle school team scored 3,163 points, finishing in third place out of five teams.
Curtis Stender led the team with a 275, finishing in sixth place out 98 middle school boys. Bryan Martin followed with a 274, finishing in ninth place.
Kenna Rathmell was the top girl scorer with a 273, placing her in fourth out of 63 middle school girls.
The high school team scored 3,306 points to win the high school division. Five other schools participated.
Samantha Mellinger continued her dominance with a 290 score. She finished in first place out of 182 girl shooters.
Seeing action for the first time this season was Grace Shafer, who had a 285, good for second place.
Griffin Wood scored a 282, placing fourth out of 212 boys. Cody Mellinger was next with a 280 finishing in sixth place.
Mitchell Driscoll had a 279, finishing in eighth place on the boys side.
Maggie Morgan shot a 276 finishing eighth for the girls. Braeden Duwa had a 275 good enough for ninth place and rounded out the top 10 finishers is Colton Warth with a 274.
The next tournament will be at the Washington Middle School Saturday, Jan. 14, beginning at 9 a.m.
