WASHINGTON — The stage is set for Washington Demon baseball.
The Demons postseason run will commence with a matchup against the Knights of Davenport Assumption on Friday, July 7 at North Scott.
Washington will look to end a 10 game skid coming into the first round matchup, most recently coming up short to Pella.
Despite the rough patch of games, the Demons have put together some good ball, nearly upsetting the likes of Mid-Prairie, 8-4, Williamsburg, 8-5, and Clear Creek-Amana, 3-0.
It wont be an easy one though as the Knights enter as the No. 8 team in Class 3A.
The Knights have been playing some great baseball themselves, downing Benton, who is receiving votes in the class, 6-0 along with Ballard 4-3.
Assumption has won six of its last eight with the pair of loses coming from 4A No. 9 Pleasant Valley.
