Tuesday night was a tough one for Washington soccer. Both the Demon boys and girls experience unfortunate endings.
The girls had their matchup with Fort Madison postponed due to having just one referee. The boys on the other hand were defeated by the Bloodhounds 5-0.
Washington fell behind early in the boys’ contest and Fort Madison only built on its lead. The Bloodhounds went on to score three goals through the opening 40 minutes.
It was much of the same in the second as the Bloodhounds notched another pair of goals to push their advantage to five.
There was consistent pressure on the Demons as Fort Madison rattled off 22 shots, 12 of which headed toward the net.
Washington moves to 1-6 on the season.
The Washington and Fort Madison junior varsity girls played a half due to the referee shortage.
That game will be made up at a later date.
