Washington boys golf team wins home invitational
The Washington boys golf team earned the champion title Saturday, April 22, as they won their home invitational by 18 strokes over Mt. Pleasant, 310-328.
Fort Madison had a 408, Burlington-Notre Dame had a 433 and Columbus ended the day with a 446.
For Washington, Jacob Van Osdol was the 18-hole winner have a 74 (36-38).
Dalton Myers followed with a 76 (40-36), Tanner Coleman had an 80 (42-38) as did Mason Rich ...

For Washington, Jacob Van Osdol was the 18-hole winner have a 74 (36-38).
Dalton Myers followed with a 76 (40-36), Tanner Coleman had an 80 (42-38) as did Mason Rich (40-40). Brock Sobaski had an 81 (42-39) in the invite and Noah Enfield ended the day with an 87 (46-41).
?I was very proud of how we played our first 18-hole event,? said coach Mark Berhow.
?The best part of the meet was the second round for most of our team. We shot are lowest 9-hole score in the second round.
?We talked about how important it was to persevere through all 18 holes and they really demonstrated that Saturday.
?The JV golfers travel to Keota today, April 24. Tomorrow, April 25, will be an important meet at Oskaloosa, the site of our District Tournament.?
