Washington eighth-grade girls? basketball against Keokuk

The Washington eighth-grade girls? basketball team played against Keokuk Monday, Dec. 12. The A team won 39-29 and the B team lost 13-18.

In the A game, the team was ahead 8-3 after the first quarter, 24-10 at the half and 33-18 at the end of the third quarter before scoring another six points to Keokuk?s nine to get the win.

Anna Nacos led the team with 15 points, four rebounds and three steals. Josie Tanner had seven points, three rebounds and one steal. Kellie Dallmeyer had five points, four rebounds and one steal.

Sophia Kleese had four points, one rebound and four steals. Alivia Emry and Cara Linnenkamp both scored two points each. Emma Herr had two points, four rebounds and one steal.

Kiki Guo had two points and two rebounds. Olivia Marek had one rebound and two steals. Sydney Cuddeback had three rebounds and one steal and Trina Griffin had two steals.

In the B game, both teams were tied at four at the end of the first quarter. Washington was ahead 9-6 at the half, but Keokuk took the lead in the third going up 11-12 and would win the game after scoring another six to Washington?s two.

Ginette Valaguez scored four points, had one rebound and one steal. Cameron Malichky had two points, one rebound and four steals.

Emmy Geyer had two points, three rebounds and one steal. Jaden Chalupa scored two points as did Trina Griffin who also had two steals.

Ariel Ramirez had one point and four rebounds in the game. Emry had one steal. Ella Goings had two rebounds.

Gabby Ricky had one rebound. Kenia Melendez had two rebounds and two steals.

Guo had one rebound and four steals and Yulisma Torres had two steals.

The A team has a 7-5 record and the B team is 3-9 for the season.
