Washington falls to Chiefs on the lanes
The Washington boys? bowling team fell just short from moving to 2-0 in the Southeast Conference on Saturday afternoon.

The Washington boys? bowling team fell just short from moving to 2-0 in the Southeast Conference on Saturday afternoon.
The Demons traveled to Keokuk for a dual with the Chiefs, but the Chiefs edged them in the individual rounds and Baker games to claim the match 2,710 to 2,581.
Washington?s boys? bowling team fell to 3-1 on the season (1-1 against conference opponents).
On the girls? side of the dual, the Demons fell to the Chiefs 2,590 to 1,600, falling to 0-4 on the season.
The boys? team was led by Kylan Gillette in the individual rounds, after a 224 in Game 1 led to a total score of 389.
Collin Zear added a balanced 370 in the effort, bowling games of 174 and 196, with sophomore Bailey Curtis notching a 322 (163, 159).
Sophomore Tucker Renoux had a 315 (155, 160), Kolton Segebart rolled a 306 (138, 168) and freshman Riley Lambert had a 295 (132, 163).
After trailing by 66 pins after the two individual games, the Demons looked to make up ground in the Baker games, but Keokuk kept just ahead of the Demons, outscoring them by 63 pins in the round.
The girls? team was led by sophomore AnnaMarie Walter on Saturday, after she bowled a Game 1 148 to finish with a 242 in the individual rounds.
Freshman Trista Kelley had a 218 (95, 123), senior Cheyenne Gillette notched a 216 (114, 102), junior Emily Kimmel had a 177 (61, 116) and senior Erin Bailey rolled a 176 (96, 80) to round out the team.
The Demons added an average of 114 in the Baker games to round out the day.
Washington will be off for the winter break, and resumes action on Jan. 16 when the team travels to Fairfield for a conference matchup.
