Demons shutout in undefeated bout against No. 10 Grinnell

GRINNELL — Washington football suffered its first loss of the season on Friday night in a 31-0 shutout defeat by Grinnell.
The Demons played the Tigers close through their district clash on Friday night, but the Washington offense couldn't find a way to score.
Grinnell’s highest scoring quarter of the night came in the first, as they rattled of 10 points in the first frame. That was the most points scored through any quarter.
Washington never let Grinnell score more than once in the final three quarters, but the Demons couldn’t get points on the board themselves.
After tacking on seven more in the second quarter, the Tigers held onto a 17-0 lead at the half.
In the final two quarters, Grinnell only pulled away as they scored seven in each of the final two frames.
With the loss, Washington drops to 3-1 on the season. They will take on Keokuk (2-2) at home on Friday. The Chiefs are coming off a 44-33 win over Fairfield.
