Washington girls basketball team wins at Oskaloosa
The Washington girls basketball team traveled to Oskaloosa Saturday, Jan. 14, playing their first game after a week, and came home with a 57-40 win.
The Demons would start off the game in a strong fashion going up 21-5 after the first quarter. Washington would score eight more in the second quarter while Oskaloosa added nine, to put the score at 29-14 at the half.

The Washington girls basketball team traveled to Oskaloosa Saturday, Jan. 14, playing their first game after a week, and came home with a 57-40 win.
The Demons would start off the game in a strong fashion going up 21-5 after the first quarter. Washington would score eight more in the second quarter while Oskaloosa added nine, to put the score at 29-14 at the half.
Washington held Oskaloosa back to only scoring nine points in the third quarter while putting up 14 of their own to make the score 43-23 before Oskaloosa would try and rally in the fourth quarter by scoring 17. However, Washington would make sure they secured the victory by scoring 14 to give them the win.
Sarah Nacos led the team in scoring with 17 points. She also had two rebounds, five assists and five steals.
Brooke Stout scored 10 points, had eight rebounds, two assists and one steal. Morgan Brinning had six points along with five rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Addison Six also scored six points. She had two rebounds as well. Isabel Bailey scored five points, had six rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Kira Ropp contributed four points, had two rebounds and one assist. Haylee Wilson had four points and two rebounds. Taylor Dicks had three points, three rebounds and one assist. Tori Bruch had two points in the game.
The win gives the girls a 3-7 record and they are host to Muscatine tonight beginning at 7:45 p.m.
