OSKALOOSA — Washington girls soccer suffered its second straight loss on Monday with a 1-0 final against Oskaloosa.
The contest was the Demons second of the season.
It’s been a tough go for Washington in these past two games, falling in both by just one goal. The Demons were defeated by Williamsburg 1-0 to start the season.
Against the Indians, an unfortunate handball was the difference maker. The Demons were called for a handball off a wild bounce and Oskaloosa was awarded the penalty.
The Indian’s went on to convert the first half foul shot into the games only goal.
Despite the pair of close losses, there’s still plenty of soccer to be played. Washington will look to pick up its first victory of the season on Thursday against Burlington (1-1) It will be the first Southeast Conference meeting of the season for Washington.
