DONNELSON — Friday night’s Washington girls soccer game at Central Lee was a carbon copy of Thursday’s battle in Burlington, besides which end of the scoreboard the Demons represented.
One night after a 4-0 shut out loss in Burlington, the Demons traveled south to play at Central Lee, and this time it was Washington walking away 4-0 victors.
Both games saw two goals in each half. On Thursday, it was Burlington that saw two shots hit the back of the net in the first 40 minutes, and two more in the next 40.
Washington keeper Aleigha Medley had to save 10 shots on the night, but saw four go by her on a busy day in net.
One night later, the Demon junior didn’t have to make any saves at all. Central Lee didn’t record a shot on goal, while Washington put up 26 of them.
Leading in goals was Angeline Anderson, who tallied a hat-trick, her first of the season. Jocci Carter scored one goal, and Ana Mata finished with an assist.
The Demons moved to 3-2 on the year with the win at Central Lee. Washington’s Southeast Conference record heading into Monday’s showdown with Mt. Pleasant was 0-1.
