MT. PLEASANT — As straight and open as the fairways at Mt. Pleasant Golf and Country Club are, one hardly sees four 40 and under scores from a high school girls golf team. On Friday, there were four from the same team.
Washington dominated the Panthers’ home quadrangular, defeating Southeast Conference rivals Mt. Pleasant and Fairfield as well as a nonconference foe in Centerville.
The Demons shot 155 on the day. Mt. Pleasant took second, with a 199. Fairfield was third, at 207, and Centerville took fourth, at 234.
Anna Nacos narrowly beat out three teammates to take individual medalist honors, shooting 37 on the day. Josie Tanner was second, with a 38.
Kiki Bruner and Makenna Conrad rounded out the Washington scorers with a pair of 40s. Kaylin Long shot 46, and Alecia Goff finished at 51.
There were just two non-Demon scores under 50, and both went to Mt. Pleasant. Eli Liechty finished the meet at 48, and Ryann Davidson shot a 49.
Sami Wibben was the third Panther on the board with a 50. Kylie Walderback shot 52. Izabel Yoder finished the day at 66.
Fairfield’s top player was Macy Rayburn, who shot a 50 on the day. Kate Pettit ended at 51. Viola Welsh shot 52. Sara Kretz ended at 54. Maggie Rayburn finished the day with a 59, and Myah Twohill shot 67.
