Washington girls soccer grabs 1st SEC win
Demons take down Trojans in Southeast Conference clash at Fairfield

WASHINGTON — The Washington girls soccer team scooped up its first Southeast Conference win on Thursday. The Demons shut out Fairfield 8-0 at Washington Wellness Park.
Washington scored three goals in the opening half to grab control of the game early, and added five in the second to run away with the game.
Giselle Marcelino went off for four goals in the win. She scored in four of her six shots on goal.
Agneline Anderson scored two goals and dished out one assist for the Demons. Maya Bruty scoredone goal, and Audrey Anderson had an assists.
Aleigha Medley picked up the win in net for the Demons. She didn’t have to make any saves.
Fairfield’s Haleigh Strickland led the team with three shots, with one landing on net. Fatima Baez had two shots on the day, one on goal. Fernanda Baez had one shot on goal.
Jaden Haynes was in net for the Trojans. She saved six shots on the day.
Washington moved to 2-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play with the win. Fairfield fell to 0-3 overall and in SEC play.
