Washington girls soccer team loses to Oskaloosa
The Washington girls soccer team was handed a loss by the Oskaloosa Indians Tuesday, May 2, after 40 minutes of play as the Demons lost by mercy rule 0-10.
Scoring for Oskaloosa came early in the game as the ball found its way to the back of the net after 38 seconds of play.
Washington worked on getting control of the ball, but found it difficult as the Indians tried to keep it in their possession.

The Washington girls soccer team was handed a loss by the Oskaloosa Indians Tuesday, May 2, after 40 minutes of play as the Demons lost by mercy rule 0-10.
Scoring for Oskaloosa came early in the game as the ball found its way to the back of the net after 38 seconds of play.
Washington worked on getting control of the ball, but found it difficult as the Indians tried to keep it in their possession.
They were able to do that and score ten minutes later. Oskaloosa scored their next goal with 27:21 left in the half before Washington was able to get the ball toward their goal.
Many of their shots were blocked, prompting Oskaloosa to regain the ball and score again with a little more than 10 minutes left.
The Indians made sure they would keep the ball on their half of the field by scoring at the 32:58 point in the half.
The sixth goal came with four minutes left in the first half.
Right after Washington started the next play, Oskaloosa took the ball and kicked it into the net with 2:59 left, for the seventh goal.
A penalty was called and the Indians scored on a penalty kick to put the score at 0-8. Twenty seconds later Oskaloosa scored again.
The Demons tried to recover, but it was too late for them as Oskaloosa was able to get the ball into the corner of the net with 1:19 left in the half to have their tenth goal.
The game ended 0-10 in Oskaloosa?s favor at the half.
The Indians move to 4-4 for the season, while the Demons fall to 0-8.
The next game for Washington is Thursday, May 4, starting at 4:30 p.m. where the seniors will be honored.
