BURLINGTON — Washington girls soccer suffered its second loss of the season on Thursday night in Burlington.
The Demons played well defensively, but couldn’t find the answer on offense as they were shutout 2-0 by the Grayhounds.
The two squads played some competitive soccer through both halves of action, but it was Burlington who held the edge.
Washington gave up just one goal through the first half, but couldn’t find its own as it proved to be the game winner.
Burlington went on to just score one more in the second, but Washington still couldn’t find the back of the net as the Grayhound backline thwarted any kind of countering run.
Washington finished with just four shots in the loss, with one being on goal.
Aleigha Medley finished with nine saves in goal for the Demons.
With the loss, Washington moves to 6-2 on the season.
After a match with Mt. Pleasant on Monday, the Demons will look to get revenge against Fort Madison on Thursday.
