Washington girls track team takes second at Eddyville

The Washington girls track team traveled to Eddyville Thursday, April 13, to take part in their Rocket Relays.

Out of eight teams participating, Washington finished in second place, behind Fairfield.

The girls came in first place in nine different events.

Hannah Anderson took first in the long jump going 16 feet 7 inches, and in the 100- and 200-meter dashes.

She had a time of 13.19 seconds in the 100 and had a time of 26.60 in the 200.

Ashley Telleen had a time of 1:03.99 in the 400-meter dash to take first place and came in first in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:12.06.

Claire Horak?s time of 2:35.52 in the 800-meter run gave her a first place finish. The team of Makenzi Marek, Demeri Bell, Victoria Barber and Anderson took first in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 54.19.

Leah Marek, Isabel Bailey, Makenzi Marek and Jenah Greiner ran the 4x200-meter relay in 1:54.25 to take first place.

Leah Marek, Greiner, Telleen and Bailey competed the sprint medley relay in 1:59.64 to take first.

The girls compete at Mt. Pleasant Tuesday, April 18, starting at 5 p.m.
