Demons lead area teams in busy boys’ meet

RIVERSIDE — A quartet of area teams traveled to Riverside for a boys golf meet on Monday, and the Demon boys flexed their muscles to the tune of a sixth-place finish.
Washington shot 334 on the day, just 26 strokes off meet champion Waverly-Shell Rock.
Washington put three golfers in the Top-20. Carson Brown, Drew Conrad and Cole Vetter each shot an 82 for 18th.
Fairfield and Mt. Pleasant finished 13th and 14th respectively, as the Trojans shot a 372 and the Panthers finished at 373.
The best finisher for either of those teams was Fairfield’s Archer Kreuter, who finished at 85. Merrick Lamm led Mt. Pleasant with an 86.
New London couldn’t sneak anyone into the Top-50 individuals, but the Tigers did finish just two spots behind Mt. Pleasant. New London shot a 419, for 16th.
