Washington golf tops podium at home meet
Demons take title, Mt. Pleasant takes third, Fairfield fourth

WASHINGTON — Washington boys golf continues to show out in the Southeast Conference slates this season.
The Demons along with Mt. Pleasant, Fairfield, Keokuk, Fort Madison and Burlington were all in action.
Washington finished atop the podium once again with a team low of 156. The Demons finished 12 strokes better than second place Fort Madison who ended with 168.
Mt. Pleasant missed out on second by just one shot, carding a 169. Fairfield followed in fourth with 189 and Keokuk took fifth with a 197.
The Demons’ Carson Brown and Drew Conrad went one and two in the meet respectively. Brown shot a low of 35 and Conrad a 36.
Cole Vetter had a 42 for the Demons, Ethan Peebler a 43, Conner Leyden a 44, Tate Greiner a 49, Kaleb Orr a 50, Caden Heisner 50 as well, Landin Harris a 53 and Mitchell Ziegloswky a 55.
For Mt. Pleasant, Brody Engle led the way with a 39, good enough for fourth. Merrick Lamm took fifth with a 41. Alek Barton shot a 43, Logan Calhoun had a 46, Sam Frary a 47 and J.C. Sitar a 49.
Fairfield was paced by Brice Boatright who tied for ninth with a 43. Andrew Myers posted a 44, Xavier Kessel ended with a 50, Dain Burkhart finished with 51, Archer Kreuter a 52, Luke Thornton a 53 and Voss Richardson a 54.
