Washington hosts annual Steve Roth Relays

WASHINGTON — Washington hosted it annual Steve Roth Relays on Thursday afternoon, which featured an abundance of teams boys’ teams from around the area and beyond.

Twenty-one teams took part in the Demons home meet, which included Union area teams such as Mt. Pleasant, Fairfield, Washington, Highland, Columbus, WACO, Keota and Winfield-Mt. Union

The meet was split up into three classes, A, B and C. Ankeny Centennial took the team win in Class A with 175 points. Washington took fifth in the Class A, followed Mt. Pleasant.

Fairfield took part in Class B.

Columbus won the Class C title with 141 points. Winfield-Mt. Union took fourth with 81 points. WACO tied Wapello with 33 points for sixth.

Washington picked up three wins on the day, while Fairfield finished with three as well. Mt. Pleasant highest finish was second.

Columbus won a whopping seven events, while Winfield-Mt. Union ended with five.
