The Washington junior varsity girls? basketball team picked up its fifth straight win with a 48-17 blowout victory over visiting Muscatine on Tuesday night.
The Demons (8-6) held the Muskies to just six points in the second half.
Sophomore Dylann Schluetter scored eight points to lead a balanced Washington scoring effort, and she also had three rebounds and three steals. Sophomore Rachael Hall added six points, five steals, four assists and two rebounds, and sophomore Elle Van Gundy had six points, four steals and three rebounds. Junior Dema Giardino had five points, four assists and two steals in the contest, and sophomore Sydney Hoffman had five points, three rebounds and two assists. Sophomore Macy Marek had five points and three steals. Junior Addie Shive had four points and two rebounds, and freshman Morgan Kimball had three points and a pair of steals. Junior Addison Gaal chiped in two points, three steals, three rebounds and two assists, while junior Jacy Zieglowsky had two points to go with five rebounds. Freshman Amber Salow scored two points, and sophomore Jordan Stout grabbed a pair of rebounds.
?Overall, I thought this was our best game,? Washington head coach Jay Zieglowsky said. ?I thought player for player, you could take every one of our girls who played last night, and it was their best game. They played tremendously. I was very pleased.?
