Washington volleyball once again stood out in the Southeast Conference.
The Demons came up just shy of defending their conference crown with a loss to Burlington the SEC Tournament. Still, Washington went 9-1 in SEC play for a second straight year.
As a result, the Demons led the way with four selections to this year’s All-Union big school volleyball team. The group includes the All-Union team captain and coach.
Fairfield and Mt. Pleasant both had decent seasons behind Washington. The Trojans and Panthers each had two All-Union selections after 22-win seasons. Fairfield went 7-3 in conference play and Mt. Pleasant finished 4-6.
Here is the full 2025 All-Union big school volleyball team.
Coach: Aaron Six, Washington
Six hasn’t been shy about challenging Washington in nonconference matchups, and it paid off for the Demons when SEC play rolled around.
Washington upped its win total from 18 in 2024 to 21 this year. The Demons went on a nine-game win streak in the middle of the season and won the West Liberty Varsity Volleyball Tournament.
The Demons season ended with a loss to Benton in the Class 3A Region 7 quarterfinal, but Six has found a recipe for sustained success over the past two seasons.
Captain: Leighton Messinger, Washington, senior
Messinger continued right where she left off in 2024 with an outstanding 2025 campaign. The senior wrapped up her Washington volleyball career by earning 3A All-State fourth-team and first-team All-SEC honors.
The 2024 SEC Player of the Year retained the accolade season and led the conference in kills with 320. Messinger was also second on the Demons with 245 digs and third in blocks with 22.
Layla Green, Washington, junior
Green missed the final few matches of Washington’s season with an injury, which further emphasized her impact. In 26 appearances, Green tallied 45 total blocks, including 14 solo, the fourth most in the conference.
The junior was also productive on offense with 172 kills and 31 aces. Green joined Messinger on the All-SEC first team.
Reagan Miller, Washington, sophomore
Miller landed on the All-SEC second team and was productive in multiple areas for the Demons. She was Washington’s primary setter, ranked third in the SEC with 500 assists and had 95 kills.
Miller was also third on the team with 229 digs and had a strong season at the service line, connecting on 89% of serves with a team-high 55 aces.
Faith Jones, Fairfield, senior
Jones was one of the best setters in Class 3A this season. She racked up 751 assists, which ranked No. 13 in the class and led the SEC.
The senior landed on the All-SEC first team after earning second-team honors in 2024. Jones also ranked fourth on the Trojans in digs (217), and was second in blocks (17) and aces (31).
Natalie Steele, Fairfield, junior
Steele joined Jones on the All-SEC first team and was on the receiving end of plenty of Jones’ passes this season. The junior led the Trojans with 217 kills.
Steele also had a team-high 38 aces and chipped in 16 blocks. One of just two underclassmen on the All-Conference first team, Steele projects as one of the SEC’s top returners next season.
Alex Scott, Mt. Pleasant, senior
Scott was the lone member of the Panthers on the All-SEC first team. The senior ranked fourth in the conference in kills with 245.
Scott also racked up 271 digs and led Mt. Pleasant at the service line with 38 aces. The senior finished her MP volleyball career with a pair of All-SEC and All-Union honors.
Addison Clark, Mt. Pleasant, senior
Clark also retained her place on the All-Union squad after a strong 2025 season. Clark ranked second in the SEC in kills with 281.
The senior was also productive on defense with 317 digs, ranked second on Mt. Pleasant with 24 blocks and had 33 aces. Clark was named to the All-SEC second team for the second straight season to wrap up an excellent prep volleyball career.
