CENTERVILLE -- The Washington girls soccer team took to the road Tuesday to face Centerville.
The weather and the state of the field seemed to have an effect on the Demons, falling to the Big Reds 5-4.
“We beat ourselves, over-complicating our game in soggy conditions,” Washington coach Steven Caulk said.
Washington got goals from Trina Griffin, Ava Turner and Alivia Emry.
The game was notable for the fact that two Demons scored goals for the first time in their career. Turner, a junior, and senior Emry each recorded that memory.
Centerville is 8-6 while the Demons are 6-6. Washington plays Thursday at Mid-Prairie (9-5).
Ava Turner scored the first goal of her career in Washington’s 5-4 loss at Centerville Tuesday, May 18, 2021. (File)
