Washington, Mt. Pleasant split on the lanes

MT. PLEASANT — The Washington bowling team went into Mt. Pleasant on Thursday night for a Southeast Conference bowling battle. The Demons and Panthers each won one matchup, with Washington taking the boys’ battle, and Mt. Pleasant toppled the Demons in girls action.
The Washington boys won their first SEC matchup of the year, beating the Panthers 2,555-2,434. Mt. Pleasant beat a shorthanded Demon team on the girls’ side, winning 2,225-885.
Washington’s Mitchell Zieglowsky bowled a 437 to lead the Demons on the boys’ side. Kelton Burke finished at 361. Cooper Zahs bowled a 310. Mason Catenaccio rolled a 291. Trevin Sulentich finished at 246, and Robert Fleming bowled a 187.
Emma Loeffler finished with a 220 on the girls’ side. Brittany Diveney bowled a 217, and Shae Fleming finished at 196.

The Demon boys moved to 1-4 with the win, while the Mt. Pleasant boys fell to 2-4. On the girls’ side, the Panthers are now a red-hot 5-1, while the Demons are 0-5.
