Washington rolls past Fairfield

FAIRFIELD - Washington used an 18-3 first-quarter advantage over Fairfield to run away with the Southeast Conference opener for both teams.
It was 32-10 at halftime for the visiting Demons and 54-14 after the third quarter.
Drew Martin led the Trojans with 14 points on 6 of 11 shooting. He also produced eight rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Landon Kooiker added 10 points for Fairfield, going 3 of 5 on 3-pointers and 1 of 2 on free throws. he added four rebounds and two assists. Elan ledger made 2 of 3 treys for his six points.
Fairfield is now 0-2 overall and 0-1 SEC and hosts Ottumwa Tuesday in a nonconference game.
Washington is 2-1 overall and 1-0 SEC with a game at Burlington Friday.
