Washington senior golf results

On Wednesday, July 19, 36 senior golfers hit links at Washington Golf and Country Club for a two-man best shot. Don Robertson and Craig Paul recorded the low score with a one under 34 effort.
Tom Lowe playing in only his third event of the year laced a rope to within 1 foot of the pin on a back hole location to edge out Sid Manfull for closest to the pin on the par 3 second hole.
Cole Weber, the course superintendent had the green slick and the pins in championship locations. The front hole location on number 3 made every putt a nightmare but Mike Mullins got the read right and holed the longest putt.
A back pin on the par 3 fifth was no problem for closest to the pin golfer Mark Thode. Doug Conrad hit a low cutter off 6 tee that rolled out to two foot from the marker in the fairway to claim that spot prize. Dale Sayer won the driving contest on the eighth hole.
After play, the group was welcomed into the clubhouse by Sherri and her staff to cold beverages and HorsD’euvers.
