Washington seventh-grade boys take second at home meet
The Washington seventh-grade boys? track and field team took second place at its home meet at Case Field on Tuesday.

The Washington seventh-grade boys? track and field team took second place at its home meet at Case Field on Tuesday.
The Demons won six events and scored 105 points, but Mt. Pleasant won the meet with 113.5 points.
Washington won the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 relays. The 4x100 relay team of Brandon Kleese, Jack Redlinger, Ryan Reighard and Dalton Myers took first place in 54.21 seconds, and the quartet of Jaivonn Willis, Redlinger, Reighard and Myers won the 4x200 relay in 1:49.29. The 4x400 relay team of Tanner Murphy, Redlinger, Reighard and Myers crossed the finish line in 4:19.37, over 13 seconds faster than the second-place team.
Myers and Reighard finished first and second, respectively, in the long jump competition. Myers won with a leap of 15 feet, 6 inches, and Reighard was second with a jump of 15 feet, 3.5 inches. Willis cleared 5 feet, 2 inches to win the high jump competition, and teammate Jacob VanOsdol cleared 4 feet, 4 inches to finish third. Mitchell Huisenga won the shot put competition with a throw of 32 feet, 10 inches, and teammate Mark Engelken finished fourth in the discus competition with a toss of 81 feet, 4 inches.
The Demons took second place in four more events. The shuttle hurdle relay team of Thomas Zimmer, Cole Dallmeyer, Mario Tapia and Kyle Fishback finished second in 1:14.86, and the quartet of Fishback, Kleese, Zimmer and Mason Letts was runner-up in the 800 medley relay in 2:03.38. Washington?s 4x800 relay team of Sean Zimmer, Kiowa Keith, Brennan Horak and VanOsdol took second place in 11:08.96.
Willis took second place in the 200-meter dash in 28.45 seconds, and teammate Tanner Murphy came in fourth in 28.95 seconds. Willis finished third in the 100-meter dash in 13.69 seconds, and Letts was fifth in 13.82 seconds. Kleese came in fifth in the 400-meter dash in 1:07.47.
Washington?s distance medley relay team of Murphy, Fishback, Letts and Stalder finished third in 4:43.93. Van Osdol took third place in the 800-meter run in 2:38.93. Teammate Austin Stalder finished fourth in the 800 in 2:40.37, and Sean Zimmer was sixth in 2:48.00. Thomas Zimmer came in fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.16 seconds, and Horak finished fifth in the 1,600-meter run in 6:12.70.
