Washington seventh-grade boys win one of three at Ottumwa

The Washington eighth-grade boys? basketball team lost the A and B games at Ottumwa on Feb. 4, but the Demons won the C game.

Ottumwa defeated Washington 31-20 in the A game. Mason Rich scored six points to lead the Demons (5-3), and he also had two steals and a rebound in the contest. Drake Brezina added five points, three rebounds and two steals, and Noah Enfield had four points and an assist. Tanner Coleman chipped in three points, two rebounds and a steal, while Michael Gier had two points to go with five steals and three boards. John Dillon pulled down a team-high five rebounds and had a pair of steals in the game. Collin Zear grabbed a pair of rebounds, and Bryce Sinn had one.

The Demon B team lost to the Bulldogs 26-19. Aaron Vittetoe scored six points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Washington (6-2), and John Sands added five points, four rebounds, a steal and an assist. Ryan Loy had four points, five rebounds, a steal and an assist in the contest. Michael Dillon chipped in two points, three rebounds and two steals, and Zear had two points, two rebounds and an assist. Coleman pulled down three rebounds, and Matthew Wheeler had a steal.

The Washington C team won 15-7. Wheeler scored five points to lead the Demons (3-1-1), and he also had three steals. Michael Dillon added four points, three steals, three rebounds and an assist. Sands chipped in two points, three rebounds, two steals and an assist, while Dylan Kinman and Joey Deidrich both had two points and a rebound. Reid Basten contributed three rebounds, a steal and an assist, and Jack Carter had an assist.
