Demons shutout Wolves at home for third victory

WASHINGTON — The Washington softball team continued its vigorous start to the season with a win over Marion on Thursday.
The Demons shutout the Wolves 4-0 in the non-conference bout.
It took Washington three innings to get on the board, but the Demons defense was stellar not giving up a single run.
Meanwhile, the Demons three runs in the bottom of the third inning proved to be enough for the win.
They added one more in the bottom of the fifth as insurance.
In the circle, Washington pitcher Bella Salazar threw a complete game.
She gave up just one hit, one walk with three strikeouts.
It’s her third victory of the season.
At the plate, Kendall Hinrichsen went 2-2 with a single and triple along with one RBI.
Leighton Salazar, Lauren Hinrichsen, Isabella Salazar and Emery Walton all had one hit as well.

Washington improves to 3-1 with the win.
