Washington sweeps in Riverside
Demon golf holds off competition at Blue Top Ridge

RIVERSIDE — It was a two-for-two day for the Washington golf teams at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside on Monday.
The Demons rolled in the girls’ competition, shooting 397 to win the meet by 29 strokes. On the boys’ side, Washington shot 342 to knock off second-place Pella Christian by 12.
The Demons battled winds of over 30 miles per hour, but that didn’t stop the Washington girls from showing out as usual. Kaylin Long and Makenna Conrad went one-two to sweep medalist honors for the Demon girls.
Long shot a 94 to win the meet by one stroke. Conrad was right behind her with a 95. Mallary Johnson placed fourth overall, with a 103.
Maci Williams shot 106 to become the fourth scorer for the Demon girls. Haley Mitchell finished at 108. Adalyn Long had to withdraw due to illness.
On the boys’ side, Roman Roth won medalist honors by shooting 80 to anchor the Demons to victory. Freshmen Drew Conrad and Rajan Roth took third and fourth respectively, at 85 and 86 each.
Luke Beenblossom was Washington’s fourth scorer at 91. Teague Mayer shot 93, and Isaac Vetter finished at 106.
