Washington takes SEC team title in Fort Madison
Demons finish first, Fairfield second, Mt. Pleasant fourth in conference bout

FORT MADISON — Southeast Conference boys golf teams gathered at Fort Madison’s Sheaffer Memorial Golf Park on Thursday night for the second conference invitational of the year.
It was a another big showing for Washington, who took the team title for the second straight time this season. The Demons posted 163 points for the top spot.
Fairfield followed close behind with a 168 final team card for second. Fort Madison was third with 175 points and Mt. Pleasant had to settle for fourth just one stroke back with 176 points. Keokuk ended in fifth with 201 points.
Washington ended up with the top two individual scores once again. This time Rajan Roth posted a 36 for medalist honors. Drew Conrad followed with a 38 for a tie at second.
Also for the Demons Kaleb Orr ended with a 42, Cole Vetter had a 44, Carson Brown and Conner Leyden a 45, Ethan Peebeler a 47 and Tate Greiner a 49.
For Fairfield, Luke Thornton tied for second with a 38. Andrew Myers followed right behind with a 39. Voss Richardson posted a 43, Archer Kreuter a 48, Xavier Kessel a 53, Dain Burkhart and Brice Boatright both had 55s, while Zane Hickenbottom posted a 56.
Mt. Pleasant’s individual scores were not posted at the time of this article.
SEC golf will be back on Monday at Keokuk.
