Washington to face No. 10 Grinnell in battle of unbeatens
Demons heading to Grinnell for matchup with the Tigers

GRINNELL — Washington’s undefeated streak is on the line Friday night against fellow undefeated opponent and No. 10 ranked Grinnell.
Both the Demons and Tigers enter 3-0.
The Demons have played some close ones through the first three weeks, winning all three by one possession.
Washington downed Oskaloosa, 21-14, Burlington 14-6, and then Fairfield 34-26 last week.
Grinnell’s latest win came against Oskaloosa. The Tigers walloped the Indians 43-0. Along with that victory, the Tigers beat Bondurant-Farrar 17-14 and Center Point-Urbana 28-0.
Leading the Demons this season in passing in Logan McDole. McDole was out of last week’s matchup with an injury, but has thrown for 242 yards and three touchdowns. He’s also rushed for 82 yards and a score as well.
On the ground, Kael Williams had a massive week in the Demons’ win a week ago. Williams had dashed for 270 yards and four touchdowns. Caden Greiner adds 66 yards and a touchdown as well.
On the receiving side of things, Mason Morgan has nine catches for 193 yards and one touchdown. Jayfred Espinosa followed with a team high 10 catches and 122 yards with two touchdowns.
Defensively, Jude Carter has a team high 28 tackles. Greiner follows with 19.5.
For Grinnell, Brady Coffman leads at quarterback. He’s yet to turn the ball over, throwing for 440 yards and eight touchdowns, which ranks as fourth most in Class 3A.
Coffman also paces the Tigers on the ground. He’s rushed for 184 yards and a touchdown.
Coffman’s favorite target is Broc Heishman. Five of the eight touchdown’s from Coffman have gone to Heishman. Heishman ranks second in the class in receiving touchdowns. He’s posted 240 yards thus far.
Logan McDonald leads the Tigers with 19 tackles.
Washington and Grinnell will kick off at 7:30 on Friday at Grinnell Community Senior High School.
